It was an entertaining football day as the NFL postseason kicked off:
New Orleans Saints 36 Seattle Seahawks 41
A shocker here, I’m talking about one of the biggest playoff upsets in NFL History. A 7-9 Seahawks team that wasn’t given much chance bombarded the saints with touchdown after touchdown. Defense was almost non-existent for both teams. The fact that it was at Qwest Field helped Seattle immensely. Marshawn Lynch’s 67 yard touchdown run, breaking eight tackles along the way, wrapped this one up.
New York Jets 17 Indianapolis Colts 16
Jets coach Rex Ryan really wanted to beat Peyton Manning. Well he did, going into Lucas Oil Stadium and stunning Indianapolis in front of a Colts crowd. Nick Folk won it for the Jets with a game-ending field goal after Adam Vinateri’s 50 yard field goal gave the Colts a two point lead with less than a minute remaining. Of course, Fireman Ed was there to see it all.
