After a wild topsy-turvy game 6, the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Texas Rangers in Game 7, 7-2, to win their 11th world championship. Chris Carpenter pitched well for the Cards, with another quality start. The Rangers are left devastated. They had two chances the night before to get one more strike, that would earn their first title. Yet those two opportunities went by the wayside, and despite an early 2-0 lead in Game 7, Texas could not hold on.
Many sportswriters claim this to be one of the most memorable world series ever. Not a bad argument, considering Game 6, and Albert Pujols hitting three home runs in game 3. Do you agree?
