The Pittsburgh Steelers narrowly defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 16-13 on Monday Night Football in overtime. It was a bittersweet victory, however, as the Steelers lost QB Ben Roethlisberger to a shoulder sprain in the 2nd half. 2nd string QB Byron Leftwich replaced Big Ben for the remainder of the game. The game started well for the Chiefs who took their first lead in the entire season (during regulation) with a rushing touchdown by RB Jamaal Charles. After a Ryan Succop field goal, KC held a 10-0 lead. Pittsburgh responded with 13 points, including a WR Mike Wallace TD catch from Roethlisberger. Chiefs QB Matt Cassel led his team on late 4th quarter drive, with the score 13-10 Pit. The result was a field goal (Succop) that sent the game to overtime. But Cassel couldn’t continue the magic as the former New England Patriot threw a disastrous interception in Kansas City territory. K Shaun Suisham won the game for the Steelers with a short field goal. Steelers improved to 6-3, while Chiefs fall to 1-8.
