Where Will Butch go?

UC football head coach, Butch Jones, is expected to make a decision today on where he will coach for the 2013 season. Jones has received offers from Colorado, Purdue, and of course UC. The Bearcats (9-3) have been coached by Jones for the past 3 years. The Bearcats’ coaching carousel is evident in the past few years. Jones replaced Brian Kelly in ’10 who had left to become coach at Notre Dame. Kelly replaced Mark D’antonio in ’07, who left to become coach at Michigan State. You get the picture. If Butch leaves it will just continue the trend that Cincinnati football is a stepping stone to wealthier and more powerful football programs. In other words, don’t be surprised if Mr. Jones leaves. Colorado appears to be the frontrunner for Butch. The Buffaloes have offered him a 5 year/$13.5 Million deal.

Update 10:20 a.m.: A source has confirmed that Jones WILL NOT coach at Purdue. It’s down to Colorado and Cincy, so check back here.
