This week, Bryan Price was named the manager of the Cincinnati Reds. Price, who replaces Dusty Baker, was the pitching coach for the Reds from 2010-2013. Reds ownership and upper management were impressed with Price during his interview. Reportedly, two people were seriously considered for the position. Jim Riggleman, manager of the AAA Louisville Bats was also interested in the job. However, Price’s interview was so impressive, he was hired immediately afterwards. Price will inherit a team that finished in third place in the NL Central, but had a 90-72 record and qualified for the playoffs.
