Bengals Clinch AFC North, Looking for More

The Cincinnati Bengals clinched the AFC North with a 42-14 romp over the Minnesota Vikings. QB Andy Dalton threw for 366 yards and 4 TD’s. The win paired with a Baltimore Ravens loss, gave the Bengals their third division title in nine years. Cincinnati has a home playoff game, but is currently the third seed in the AFC. The top two seeds receive a first-round bye. The Bengals, 10-5, play host to the Ravens in the regular season finale Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium. New England plays host to Buffalo. If New England loses, and the Bengals win, the no.2 seed will go the Bengals.

Bearcats Headed to Belk Bowl After Loss

The Cincinnati Bearcats lost to #19 Louisville Thursday night, 31-24 in overtime. A sold out crowd of over 36,000 people witnessed the most dramatic game of the season for the Bearcats. Louisville jumped out to a 10-0 lead thanks in large part to QB Teddy Bridgewater. Cincinnati scored two TD’s, and took the lead 14-10, heading into the fourth quarter. The final quarter was back and forth. Bridgewater led Louisville to a TD to make it 17-14. Cincinnati responded with a rushing TD, 21-17. But Teddy Bridgewater could not be stopped, as he made an incredible 4th down conversion via running. Then he made an acrobatic touchdown pass. Cincinnati’s Brendon Kay drove the Bearcats to the red zone. A field goal by Tony Miliano sent the game to OT. In the first OT, Louisville benefitted from a penalty, and scored on a rushing TD. Cincinnati failed to convert on four downs, as a dropped pass ended the game. Louisville improves to 11-1 (7-1 AAC), while Cincinnati goes to 9-3 (6-2 AAC).
