With the top two teams going down Saturday (Kansas State and Oregon), Notre Dame is the new #1 team, after blowing out Wake Forest 38-0. Alabama is back to #2, as they took care of Western Carolina, 49-0. Georgia moves to #3, Florida to #4, and Oregon to #5 after losing to Stanford in overtime. K-State dropped from #1 to #6 after losing to Baylor 52-24. Ohio State is #4 in the AP Poll but is excluded from the BCS Rankings (NCAA Violations). OSU and ND are the only undefeated teams remaining.This Week:
After Alabama losing, the BCS Standings were shaken at the top. Alabama fell from #1 to #4. Kansas State, Oregon, and Notre Dame are 1,2, and 3 respectively. K-State was able to defeat TCU 27-10, Oregon routed California, and Notre Dame beat Boston College 21-6. Alabama lost to #15 Texas A&M at home. Ohio State is not eligible for the BCS because of recruiting violations, but does rank #6 in the AP Top 25. Kansas State, Oregon, Notre Dame, and Ohio State are only unbeatens remaining.
#1 Alabama had a scare in Baton Rouge, but the Crimson Tide pulled out a last-minute victory over #5 LSU (dropped to #7). #2 Kansas State played well defeating #24 Oklahoma State. #4 Oregon defeated #17 USC 62-51, which propelled the Ducks to #3. Notre Dame nearly lost to Pittsburgh but ended up winning in three overtimes. The Irish fell from #3 to #4. After upsetting #2 Florida last week, Georgia routed Ole Miss 37-10. The Bulldogs are now #5 in the latest BCS rankings.
